As part of Urban Matters’ program in Cape Town to create an integrated approach that tackles multiple issues in a sustainable manner, Cordaid and its partners have successfully finalized and submitted a project proposal for the infrastructure project (public transportation) in the Metropolitan South East in Cape Town. Now Cordaid and partners are waiting for the final approval of the proposal.
The EU-project regarding youth empowerment through sports and arts in Cape Town has successfully been finalized with the Inyanda Youth Network and CESVI. This project resulted in more employment opportunities for youth and a stronger youth network in Philippi. More information on this project can be found on the website (Project ID 108043).
Unfortunately, the housing program in Hazeldaen has been closed because not all stakeholders managed to agree on the model and with that the risk for Cordaid became too high. However, the lessons learned from this program are being taken forward in housing projects.
Cordaid and its partners continue their collaboration and are looking to secure funding for future projects in Cape Town.
